About Me
I trained as a coach with Newfield in Colorado. Newfield takes an ontological approach to coaching: using a holistic view that encompasses language, body and emotions it aims to build self-awareness and enable individuals to lead more purposeful lives.
I decided to become a coach to build on my passion for helping people achieve their potential. I first learned the power of working one-on-one with individuals as a volunteer at the Ottawa Distress Centre, where I answered crisis lines for several years. I also served as a member, and ultimately President, of the Board of Directors. I bring this passion to all my work in supporting employee development.
My background is quite diverse, and I bring to my coaching the experience of an extensive career in the non-profit and public sectors. Trained as an Agricultural Economist, I worked for two years in St. Vincent and the Grenadines supporting development work. After completing my MSc at Guelph, I was a senior officer in a national agricultural lobby group for a number of years before joining the public service.
A keen gardener, I am Past President of the Ottawa Horticultural Society.
I am married with two adult daughters.
